Following the recent attack in Manchester, we would like to reassure visitors about the security procedures that we have in place in the building. We take the security of visitors, volunteers and staff very seriously, and were supported by CST (Community Security Trust) in the development of our procedures, which have been in place since the Heritage Centre opened in July 2021.
Access to the building is strictly controlled, and by pre-arranged booking only, so the public are not able to access the building freely at any time. Doors are kept locked and there is a video entry system at the main Heritage Centre entrance. Security cameras are in place at both entrances to the building at Hill Street and Garnet Street.
For further information about security on public tours, please see our Tours page here. You can find more about security for school visits on our Risk Assessment form that is designed to address all aspects of risk on a school visit.
If you have any questions or concerns about security please feel free to get in touch by email on info@sjhc.org.uk.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Scottish Jewish Heritage Centre.
